Ratings DATA

Outlets and their terms

Where each outlet publishes its ratings, what its own terms say about reusing them, and whether we show its ratings or only link to them.

Outlets we check

  • Inside Elections

Terms not found: shown with credit and a link

Ratings pages are readable without signing in, and the site publishes the same ratings as JSON and XML on a public Developer page (insideelections.com/developer/). No terms of use or copyright-permission page was found: the usual addresses return not found, the site sitemap lists none, and the page footers carry only a copyright line. robots.txt allows crawling. Shown with the outlet name, the date it gives and a link.

    Checked Oct. 20, 2026.

    132 current ratings shown.

  • Split Ticket

Terms not found: shown with credit and a link

Split Ticket publishes its 2026 Senate and House model through The Argument (a Substack publication). The model page shows its tables as embedded Datawrapper charts whose data files are public. The copy embedded in the post is pinned to an older version (June 17) than the chart's current public version (Sept. 24), so ratings are taken from the current public chart and dated by its file. The post says full access to the data is for paying subscribers; the public chart files were readable without signing in. Split Ticket's own site has no terms page (a privacy policy only), and no Split Ticket or Argument statement about reusing ratings was found. We found no Split Ticket 2026 governor ratings. Shown with the outlet name, the date and a link.

    Checked Oct. 20, 2026.

    96 current ratings shown.

  • Cook Political Report

Cannot be read by a program: link only

Every cookpolitical.com address we tried (the three ratings pages, a print page, robots.txt, the terms page) answered with a bot check ("Just a moment...") to a command-line request, and the built-in browser did not clear it. We do not bypass bot checks, so neither the ratings nor the terms could be read. Google's listing says individual race pages are for subscribers. Link only until a person can read the terms.

    Checked Oct. 20, 2026.

We do not store or show this outlet’s ratings.

  • Sabato's Crystal Ball

Cannot be read by a program: link only

Every centerforpolitics.org address we tried (the Crystal Ball home, the 2026 Senate, governor and House pages, robots.txt, a terms page) answered with a bot check to a command-line request. We do not bypass bot checks, so neither the ratings nor the terms could be read. Link only until a person can read the terms. The Senate link is the page Google lists for the 2026 Senate ratings; the governor and House links go to the Crystal Ball home because those page addresses could not be confirmed.

    Checked Oct. 20, 2026.

We do not store or show this outlet’s ratings.

  • Decision Desk HQ / The Hill

    Terms bar reuse: link only

The Hill's pages link to Nexstar's Terms of Use (nexstar.tv/terms-of-use), which limit use of the content to personal, non-commercial use, bar copying, republishing and scraping or data-mining, and bar using content for commercial purposes. The forecast pages (Senate and House races labeled Safe, Likely, Lean or Tossup, with win probabilities) were readable without signing in, but a news site with sponsors and paid tiers cannot reuse them under those terms. Link only. We found no governor ratings in the forecast; the governor link goes to the election center.

    Checked Oct. 20, 2026.

We do not store or show this outlet’s ratings.

  • Silver Bulletin

    Behind a paywall: link only

The FLIPR 2026 Senate forecast page says "This post is for paid subscribers" and shows no race-by-race forecast without a paid subscription. Silver Bulletin publishes win probabilities, not rating words. Link only.

    Checked Oct. 20, 2026.

We do not store or show this outlet’s ratings.

  • Race to the WH

Cannot be read by a program: link only

The Senate and governor forecast pages are public, but the race-by-race forecast is drawn inside an embedded interactive graphic (Infogram) whose table is not in the page text, so a program cannot read a rating next to each race and the check we require cannot be made. No terms page was found (the usual address returns not found). Link only.

    Checked Oct. 20, 2026.

We do not store or show this outlet’s ratings.

The terms statuses are our reading of each outlet’s published terms. They are not legal advice. When terms cannot be found we show the rating with the outlet’s name, its date and a link. Back to the ratings · Corrections
