U.S. House maps for the 2026 election
For each state: how many seats it has, the law or court order that set the congressional map, who adopted it, the date, and a link to the official record. Maps adopted after the November 2022 election are marked. Where we could not confirm a state from an official page, we say so and give the reason.
- 45states confirmed from an official page
- 9states whose map was adopted after the 2022 election
- 5states not confirmed from an official source yet
Counts are added up from the list below. The map listed is the latest one our official sources show for the state. Where an official source shows a map was blocked, stayed or left unused in 2026, the entry says only what that source says. Seats come from the Census Bureau's 2020 apportionment, checked against the Clerk of the House member data file. 6 states have a single at-large seat and no district map.

How this list is built
Only official government pages are used: state legislatures, courts, redistricting commissions, Secretaries of State, the U.S. Supreme Court and the Census Bureau. Names and numbers are quoted as those pages print them. News reports and encyclopedias are not used as sources. A state is marked confirmed only when we read its law, plan or order on an official page. 'direct read' means the official page or file was opened and read (from VoteFiles' server where a page refuses other readers).
"Adopted after the 2022 election" means the official adoption date falls after November 8, 2022. A map can be in force for 2026 and still be listed without that mark if it was adopted earlier. This page does not predict outcomes or describe which party a map favors. See how maps and voting rules have changed since 1965 in the voting history timeline. Back to the 2026 voting center.
