Help keep the record straight

Report a record discrepancy, a headline mismatch, an outlet-removal request, a privacy concern, or a payment problem through the request desk below. Every request receives a reference code. The archive has no paywall, no ads, and no side.

Reader support levels

Keep the record free for everyone

One time

Reader

A single payment toward keeping every public record free to read, cite, and share.

Monthly

Record Keeper

Steady support for official-source imports, hosting, and the source links that keep each record checkable.

Monthly

Watchdog

Higher recurring support for expanding coverage to more courts, states, and official feeds.

Annual

Founding Desk

The highest reader level, for people who want the public record to stay independent for the long run.

Every level funds the same free archive. No level unlocks different facts or changes what a record says. Newsrooms and institutions: see licensing. How VoteFiles is funded: funding and independence.

Hear when reader support opens

Leave an email and we will tell you once, when public payments open. That address is used for nothing else and you can ask us to delete it through the request desk.

Joining the list is not a payment or a pledge.

Tell us exactly what needs attention

Choose the category, identify the affected page when applicable, and include the best official source you have. What you send is a lead, not proof; every correction is checked against the official source before we change anything.

Record correctionFigures, dates, status, identity, or source links that disagree with an official record.
Headline or outletA headline attached to the wrong page, or a verified publisher asking us to remove its headlines.
PaymentA payment, refund, duplicate charge, cancellation, or receipt question.
PrivacyQuestions or requests concerning information submitted to Vote Files.

Do not send passwords, payment-card or bank details, government ID numbers, medical information, or sealed or victim-identifying material. Public payments are currently closed.

Straight answers

Three questions we always get

Where does the data come from?

VoteFiles links its government and court-record findings to the available official source. Some historical roll-call and identity data comes through named third-party compilations, and monitored publisher headlines remain attributed reporting leads—not official records or VoteFiles findings. Learn where these layers come from and what they cannot establish on the sources page.

Are you partisan?

No. VoteFiles does not endorse a party or candidate or tell readers how to vote. We distinguish sourced records from attributed publisher coverage and label what has not been verified. If a page appears to take a side, report it.

Can I deduct my support from my taxes?

No. VoteFiles is a for-profit business, so a payment for support or a subscription pays for a service and cannot be deducted from your taxes as a gift. If that ever changes, this page will say so plainly.
