Federal court orders on voting
in Utah

A daily list of published federal court opinions and orders whose case title or text matched election terms, linked to the official GovInfo record. It is a place to start reading, not a finding about what any court decided.

How to read every entry

Published federal court opinion/order found by keyword search; Power & Politics has not determined its effect unless marked reviewed.

This list covers published opinions and orders that courts send to GovInfo. It is not every docket entry: many filings, minute orders, and emergency orders are never published there, and state courts are not included. Before relying on an order, read it and confirm the current rule with your election office.

Method

Source: the GovInfo United States Courts Opinions collection (U.S. Government Publishing Office and the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts), searched daily on the official GovInfo website for documents published since Jan 1, 2026. This view shows the U.S. district courts in Utah and the court of appeals whose circuit includes it. The list of courts was checked against GovInfo on Sep 25, 2026. The Supreme Court and the Federal Circuit are not in this list.

An entry appears when either search matches: election words in the case title (for example election, ballot, voter, redistricting, board of elections, secretary of state, or a national party committee), or the full text naming the Voting Rights Act, the National Voter Registration Act, or the Help America Vote Act. Keyword matches include cases that are not about voting rules, and miss orders that use other words. Each published document is listed separately, so one case can appear more than once. We do not write summaries of what courts decided; an entry says “Reviewed” only after a person at Power & Politics read it and wrote the note shown.
