Docket entry

960352 Carnes v. Chesterfield County 11/01/1996 In this case where the primary issue on appeal concerns the validity of two local ordinances which impose a $125 increase in the fee charged for new residential construction, the trial court's finding that the ordinances did not violate either Code § 36-105 or the Uniform Statewide Building Code § 104.3 is supported by the evidence. The evidence also supports the trial court's ruling that the expenditures funded by the fee ordinances were rationally related to the cost of USBC enforcement.

Rulings in this case over time

Courts at different levels and stages can reach different results in the same case. Each entry is the court's own record; read it before drawing a conclusion.

No official record has been found at this time. We are watching for updates.

Method: an entry is marked with an outcome only when its own text contains the outcome word, and the word is shown beside it. Orders, opinions and judgments whose text does not say are marked Other. Party filings, notices and routine procedural orders (appearances, extra pages, time extensions, scheduling) are not listed; 1 such entry was left out of this case.
